The Silver Ball Charity Auction and Gala

The COVID-19 pandemic put a stop to the annual Charity Golf fundraising event but the charity dollars are still very much needed to fund the medical, health and social care services for the elders under our care. An organising committee comprising members of the Board of Directors and friends of the management, swiftly jumped into action to plan for an alternative fundraiser – the Silver Ball Charity Auction and Gala, an online auction combining elements of a Gala dinner, within safe management guidelines.

Specially curated by the organising committee, the inaugural Silver Ball Charity Auction and Gala offered a collection of 91 exquisite items and experiences up for bid. Instead of the usual gala dinner, there were intimate gatherings for small groups with a range of options, including ‘In Conversation’ dinners with well-respected individuals, fine dining at Michelin-starred restaurants, and private dining in the comfort of one’s own home. In addition, there were also other non-dining items such as elegant jewellery and accessories, fine wine, as well as rejuvenating holiday escapades and staycation packages. 

The online auction ran from 24 November 2020 till 1 December 2020. There was fierce bidding during the last few minutes for some very highly coveted items and it indeed created some very exhilarating moments for the participants!

Once again, our heartiest congratulations to the successful winners and sincerest gratitude to all who have supported the fundraising campaign – sponsors, bidders, donors, friends and acquaintances, who have contributed greatly to the success of the event. The more than S$500,000 raised will be channelled to the clinical and social care services for the vulnerable group of elders served by the Tsao Foundation.
