The Silver Ball Charity Auction 2021 has ended.
Thank you for your generous contribution towards The Silver Ball Charity Auction & Gala, in benefit of the Hua Mei Centre for Successful Ageing, supported by the Tsao Foundation.
Your gift will go towards the Centre’s health and social services, which provide the underserved elders in Singapore with much needed medical, health and psychosocial care, as well as to bring some cheer to their lives.
We hope The Silver Ball has brought joy and delight to you at your end.
Our heartfelt, best wishes to you and your family, and a blessed 2022 ahead.
On behalf of all of us at The Silver Ball committee,
Sincerely,
“More than ever, our gym-based fitness and physiotherapy programmes are essential to enable our seniors to build strength and keep moving – to heal and keep physical disability and loss of independence at bay. Sadly, some seniors have stopped coming to our day centre due to financial challenges resulting from the pandemic.”
- Don Tan, Senior Social Worker and Programme Manager, Hua Mei Elder-centred Programme of Integrated Comprehensive Care
“More family members and caregivers are experiencing fatigue, anxiety, and emotional stress during this period. Our home visits to homebound older persons with poor financial and social support bring back stories of retrenchment or loss of income. We also strive to ensure the wellbeing of family members and caregivers as they are key partners in the seniors’ overall health management.”
- Jasmine Wong, Senior Social Worker and Manager, Hua Mei Mobile Clinic
“In tough times, frail and at-risk older persons rely even more on our nurses and social workers to connect them to the right service at the right price and time. Our multi-disciplinary teams are here for them, ensuring their care plans are sustainable within community and can optimise their health and wellbeing.”
-Yong Leong Ying, Senior Manager, Hua Mei Community Care Management Services
About the Silver Ball Charity Auction 2021
Following another year of uncertainty and increased need, we are appealing to your generosity again to close out 2021 purposefully with a gift to benefit the elders under our care.
The Silver Ball Charity Auction is held in benefit of Hua Mei Centre's clinical services. These health and social care services benefit the underserved elders in Singapore, who not only are in the most vulnerable category of the COVID-19 pandemic due to their age and pre-existing conditions, but are also experiencing physical and mental deterioration as their routine medical and psycho-social healthcare and social care needs are disrupted.
All donations are tax-exempt in Singapore as the Tsao Foundation is a Singapore-registered charity with an Institution of a Public Character (IPC) status.
Our online charity auction starts 15 November at 9am, with bids closing on 26 November at 12noon.
Here is a sneak peek of the selected entries that made it into our auction catalogue this year. Thank you for donating generously.
