Caring for individuals with dementia is a deeply personal and challenging journey that impacts both individuals and their loved ones. This course provides essential knowledge and practical strategies to help participants better understand dementia, manage behavioural challenges, improve communication, and support caregiver well-being.
What you will learn:
- Understand what Dementia and the causes are
- List the most common types of Dementia (such as Alzheimer’s Disease), the signs and symptoms of Dementia
- Understand and manage changed behaviours in People with Dementia
- Apply techniques and skills to communicate with People with Dementia (such as using verbal and non-verbal communication, music and reminiscence techniques)
- Discover self-care techniques and support resources for caregivers
