This course provides essential knowledge and practical strategies to help participants better understand dementia, manage behavioural challenges, improve communication, and support caregiver well-being.
What you will learn:
- Understand what Dementia and the causes are
- List the most common types of Dementia (such as Alzheimer’s Disease), the signs and symptoms of Dementia
- Understand and manage changed behaviours in People with Dementia
- Apply techniques and skills to communicate with People with Dementia (such as using verbal and non-verbal communication, music and reminiscence techniques)
- Discover self-care techniques and support resources for caregivers
