Wendy Khon joined Tsao Foundation in 1998, when care management was still new in Singapore. She first encountered the organisation while volunteering with the Singapore Women’s Association, helping to set up eye-screening equipment for community programmes serving seniors. A conversation with a Tsao Foundation staff member introduced her to the Foundation’s early care management work—an opportunity she embraced and grew with over the years.

Over more than two decades, Wendy, now in her 80s, has built lasting friendships with colleagues while continuing to support seniors in the community. At Café Kawan in Whampoa, an initiative of ComSA (Community for Successful Ageing), she especially values the volunteers. “They are the heartbeat of the café—the sugar and cream in our coffee,” she says. Their kindness and friendship make Café Kawan a truly happy place.
