Goh Ah Lam’s journey with Tsao Foundation began 15 years ago as a caregiver for his late mother. When she was referred to our senior care centre Elder-centred Programme of Integrated Comprehensive Care (EPICC) after a fall, he experienced the emotional and practical demands of caregiving, along with the reassurance that comes from feeling supported. The guidance, encouragement and social connections provided by EPICC staff during this period stayed with him.

“Caregiving can be challenging,” he shared, “but having the right support around you makes a real difference.” That experience later drew him back to EPICC as a volunteer care coordinator. For more than a decade, Goh has supported seniors through simple, shared moments such as reading together, playing games and gentle exercises, nurturing not just physical activity but connection and emotional wellbeing. Now 76, he continues to balance caregiving with volunteering, finding meaning in giving back. His story reflects Tsao Foundation’s holistic approach to integrated care, where older persons, caregivers and communities are supported together so that all can live with dignity, connection and purpose.
